History

1974.

The Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" Zrenjanin began its work as the Pedagogical and Technical Faculty, which was founded in 1974, as a higher education scientific organization for the training of personnel for polytechnic education and upbringing.

1979.

During 1979, the Faculty expanded its activities to include the education of computer scientists - professors of computer science.

1983.

In the period from 1983, the education of teachers of practical teaching in the traffic and metal professions began.

1986.

The Faculty of Pedagogical and Technical Faculty was merged with the Higher Technical School from Zrenjanin under the name of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin". Within the newly established Faculty, the following were formed: the Institute of Polytechnics, the Institute of Mechanical Engineering and the Department of Technology.

1987.

Two new engineering profiles were introduced - a graduate engineer in textile and mechanical engineering and a graduate engineer for development of mechanical engineering.

1990.

Based on the Law on the University of the Republic of Serbia, in 1990, the Higher Technical School was again separated from the existing Faculty, and the Polytechnic Institute with part of the Institute of Mechanical Engineering remained under the name of the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" Zrenjanin.

1996.

A new engineering profile was introduced - a graduate engineer for technical systems management.

1998.

A new engineering profile was introduced - a graduate engineer for technical systems management in medicine.

1999.

A new engineering profile was introduced - a graduate engineer for development - quality management. A communication hub based on ISDN technology was activated, with a 64kbps link to the PTT provider. It is planned to harmonize the Faculty's operations with the ISO 9001 standard.

2000.

A quality system was introduced at the Faculty. The certificate with the serial number QA:041000744 was officially delivered to the Faculty on 23.06.2000. at the event "Faculty Open Doors". The amphitheater at the Faculty was opened.

2001.

Informatics forum launched. In addition to two other faculties in the country, the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" received a donation of licensed CAD software. Starting from the 2001/2002 academic year, a new major is being offered at the Faculty: Graduate Engineer in Textile Engineering - Information Technology.

2002.

The Faculty received 4 scientific projects from the Ministry of Science, Technology and Development in the academic year 2001/2002:

1. Distance learning in the field of science,

2. Distance learning system based on Internet technologies using multimedia educational computer software in the field of technological development,

3. Web-based systems for electronic business of local government and municipal services in the field of technological development,

4. Rationalization of natural gas energy consumption in household boiler plants by utilizing the upper thermal power of natural gas in the field of energy efficiency

Starting from the academic year 2002/2003, a new major has been opened for enrollment of undergraduate students at the Faculty: Graduate Engineer in Production Management.

2009.

Within the accreditation procedure of the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia within the Bologna Process, the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" in Zrenjanin was successfully accredited in the field of higher education as an institution and accredited for undergraduate and master's study programs, namely for 4 educational profiles at the undergraduate level and 4 educational profiles at the master's level. Accreditation data are available on the website of the Commission for Accreditation and Quality Assurance as of 24.6.2009. http://www.kapk.org/images/stories/odluke/IV_CIKLUS.pdf. In this way, accredited implementation of teaching in the field of undergraduate and master's studies in the fields of: engineering management, clothing technology, industrial engineering, information technology has been enabled.

2010.

Two more study programs at the master's level were accredited (Information Technologies in e-Government and Business Systems and Informatics and Technology in Education) and a joint study program with the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad at the undergraduate level (Environmental Engineering). In the same year, the undergraduate studies were reaccredited from 180 to 240 ECTS.

2012.

The doctoral studies in Engineering Management were accredited.

2014.

The master's academic studies were reaccredited: Information Technologies in e-Government and Business Systems, Information Technologies, Informatics and Technology in Education, Engineering Management, Environmental Engineering - Master, Mechanical Engineering and Clothing Engineering. In 2014, the first accreditation of the basic academic studies Industrial Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation was also carried out. Also, new study programs of the basic academic studies were accredited: Information Technology Management and Informatics and Technology in Education. In the same year, the following study programs were reaccredited: Information Technology, Engineering Management, Mechanical Engineering, Clothing Engineering and Environmental Engineering.

2015.

The first accreditation of the basic academic studies Information Technology - Software Engineering was carried out.

2017.

The curriculum was modifiedtura of basic and master academic studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering.

2019.

The reaccreditation of doctoral studies in Engineering Management was carried out.

2020.

The reaccreditation of master academic studies in the field of Mechanical Engineering was carried out.

2021.

The reaccreditation of basic academic studies for the following fields was carried out: Engineering Management, Information Technologies,

Information Technologies - Software Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Mechanical Engineering and Industrial

Engineering in Oil and Gas Exploitation. Also, the reaccreditation of master academic studies in the fields of Engineering

Management and Information Technologies was carried out in the same year.

2022.

The reaccreditation of the undergraduate and master's academic studies in the field of Clothing Engineering was carried out.

2023.

The study programs Informatics, Engineering and Technology in Education - Master's academic studies and Information Technology - Doctoral studies were accredited at the Faculty.
