
The Department of Management carries out activities related to student education, scientific research work of the Department members, the implementation of an international symposium, the publication of a journal, as well as numerous activities of importance for the functioning of the Faculty as a whole.
The Department is the holder of the study program Engineering Management, at undergraduate and master's studies, and at doctoral studies of the study program entitled Industrial Engineering and Engineering Management. Study programs, at all levels, are designed in a multidisciplinary manner, combining selected management and engineering disciplines, in accordance with contemporary global trends. In addition to acquiring high professional competencies in the field of engineering management, the goals of the study programs are to train students to: develop the ability to think critically and independently, develop the ability to analyze problems, synthesize solutions, predict the outcome of the chosen solution, work in a team and communicate with experts from other fields.
For the past thirteen years, the Department has been organizing an international symposium called the International Symposium Engineering Management and Competitiveness (EMC). The organization and implementation of this symposium has contributed to raising the level of professional and scientific activity of the members of the Department, but also of the Faculty as a whole, and to expanding cooperation with business and other educational institutions. Cooperation has been established with Szent István University, Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences, Gödöllő (Hungary) and Voronezh State University, Faculty of Economics, Voronezh (Russia), as partners in organizing the symposium.
The members of the Department, on behalf of the publisher – the Faculty, are responsible for managing, developing and improving the Journal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness (JEMC), which is categorized by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia as M51 - Top Journal of National Importance. In the last five years, the members of the Department have been authors/co-authors of over 40 papers published in international journals from the SCI list, as well as a large number of papers in nationally recognized journals and at international and domestic scientific and professional conferences. The largest number of papers relate to the following areas: human resource management, quality management, marketing, public relations, organizational behavior and entrepreneurship. The members of the Department are engaged in several domestic multi-year projects.
The Department's plans for the coming period are: further development of teaching and scientific activities, competition for funding and implementation of new projects, publication of scientific papers, especially in journals from the SCI list, expansion of international cooperation, also continuity in holding the International Symposium Engineering Management and Competitiveness and further development of the Journal of Engineering Management and Competitiveness.
