SHORT BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Vasilije Petrovic was born on February 12, 1962. in Trešnjevica, municipality of Arilje, Serbia. He is married and has two children. He defended his master's thesis in the field of textile technology at the University of Ljubljana in 1992, and his doctoral dissertation at the University of Novi Sad in 1996 with a topic in the field of textile technology: "Modeling the behavior of cotton yarn during winding". Now he works as a professor at the "Mihajlo Pupin" Technical Faculty of the University of Novi Sad. He was one of the founders of the Department of Textile and Clothing Sciences and Design. He is one of the 9 members of the Board of Directors in the World Alliance of 33 textile universities WTUA (World Textile University Alliance) since its establishment in 2019 in Shanghai, as the representative of the University of Novi Sad. From 2014 to today, he is the coordinator of the CEEPUS exchange program of teachers and students, in the field of textiles, between the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" of the University of Novi Sad and a number of Central European universities. From 2014 to today, he is the coordinator of the exchange program of teachers and students, in the field of textiles, between the Technical Faculty "Mihajlo Pupin" of the University of Novi Sad and Donghua University from Shanghai. From 2017 to 2018, he was the Erasmus+ academic coordinator of the ERASMUS+ teacher and student exchange program between the "Mihajlo Pupin" Technical Faculty of the University of Novi Sad and the Obuda University of Budapest. He is the author and leader of the program of continuous professional development of secondary school teachers, entitled: Application of the Industry 4.0 concept, which was approved by the Institute for the Improvement of Education and Training, Republic of Serbia, under catalog number 992.

So far, he has published 12 papers in journals on the SCI list, 117 papers at international meetings printed in their entirety, 1 monograph of national importance, 57 papers published at national meetings printed in their entirety, 4 papers published in a leading journal of national significance, 35 papers in journals of national importance, 7 lectures by invitation from a meeting of national importance printed in their entirety, 26 papers at a national meeting printed in extracts, author of 3 faculty textbooks, editor of 6 proceedings of an international scientific meeting. Reviewer in the following journals: Textile Research Journal, Industry of Textile and Textile & Leather Review.

Project data

He was the manager of the IPA project entitled: Analysis of innovation capabilities of cooperation and development opportunities of small and medium-sized enterprises in the Serbian-Romanian cross-border area inspired by the cultural heritage of the Serbian and Romanian people, MIS-ETC code: 1427, Romania-Republic Of Serbia IPA Cross-Border Cooperation Programs, 2015-2016. He worked on 3 projects in the field of textile industry financed by the Ministry of Science and Technological Development of the Republic of Serbia. He is currently working on a project financed by the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovation of the Republic of Serbia (reg. no. 451-03-1/2023/), which is in the field of textile technologies and materials. He did 12 projects for companies in the textile industry.
